The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has pitched the state as a top investment destination to the European Union, highlighting opportunities in oil and gas, agriculture, healthcare, and the blue economy.

During a courtesy visit by the EU Ambassador to Nigeria, Gautier Mignot, the governor said Delta is safe, resource-rich, and ready for global partnerships.

Represented by his deputy, Monday Onyeme, Oborevwori outlined the state’s economic strengths, noting its major contribution to Nigeria’s oil and gas sector and its rich deposits of solid minerals such as silica and coal.

He also pointed to Delta’s vast rivers, over 160km coastline, and mangrove forests as key drivers for a growing blue economy, offering investment openings in ports, jetties, aquaculture, and water transportation.

“Delta State is a prime investment destination—resource-rich, peaceful, and secure. We are committed to supporting investors,” the governor said.
