Oborevwori Appoints Henry Afure Sakpra as GM of Delta Social Investment Programme
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has appointed Hon. Chief Henry Afure Sakpra as the new General Manager of the Delta State Social Investment Programme (DSIP), with immediate effect.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu.
According to the statement, the appointment is in line with the provisions of the Delta State Social Investment Programme Law, 2025, which established the programme to address poverty, hunger and other forms of social deprivation among residents of the state without discrimination.
Why Oborevwori Appointed Sakpra
The Delta State Social Investment Programme is designed to improve the socio-economic conditions of Deltans, particularly people at the grassroots, through the delivery of interventions aimed at poverty reduction and alleviation.
The programme is also empowered to undertake other activities considered necessary to achieve its objectives.
The state government said Sakpra’s appointment is intended to strengthen the institutional framework of the programme and improve its capacity to deliver on its mandate.
Sakpra to Drive Social Inclusion in Delta
The appointment is also expected to support the Oborevwori administration’s efforts to expand social inclusion and create greater opportunities for vulnerable and underserved citizens across Delta State.
The government said the move is part of its commitment to advancing the MORE Agenda, with emphasis on improving the welfare and socio-economic wellbeing of Deltans.
Sakpra assumes office as General Manager with immediate effect and is expected to lead the implementation of the programme’s objectives across the state.
