Umukoro Calls for Peaceful, Issue-Based Campaign in Ethiope West Constituency 1
Ahead of the forthcoming 2027 general election, Prince Onoriode Umukoro, the APC Candidate in Ethiope West Constituency 1, Delta State, has called on supporters, party faithful and other stakeholders to embrace peace, civility and issue-based campaigning ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
Umukoro made the call in a message to the people of Ethiope West Constituency 1 Wednesday, following the official commencement of campaign activities by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He urged Party faithfuls, supporters to conduct themselves with maturity and restraint throughout the campaign season, stressing that political differences should not become a source of bitterness, personal attacks or division.
According to him, his campaign would be centred on ideas, issues and practical solutions capable of addressing the challenges confronting the people of Ethiope West Constituency 1.
“Our campaign must be anchored on ideas, issues and practical solutions not on bitterness, personal attacks or divisive rhetoric,” Umukoro said.”
He also appealed to supporters and political stakeholders to remain peaceful in their conduct, respectful in their engagements and responsible in their public statements, even when disagreements arise.
Umukoro promises people-centred campaign
The APC Candidate said his campaign would remain people-centred and issue-driven, with emphasis on the needs, aspirations and welfare of residents of Ethiope West Constituency 1.
He promised to present practical and workable ideas aimed at creating a better and more prosperous future for the constituency if elected.
Umukoro further pledged to provide effective representation, describing himself as a prospective “strong voice for the voiceless” and an advocate for vulnerable members of society.
He said his commitment to the people would transcend political affiliation, social class and creed.
‘Let us strengthen democracy’
Umukoro called on the people of Ethiope West Constituency 1 to work collectively towards a campaign that promotes unity and strengthens democratic values.
He urged political actors to place the interests of the constituency and the Party above personal differences, saying peaceful political participation was essential to building public confidence in representative leadership.
“Together, let us run a campaign that unites our people, promotes peace, strengthens our democracy and restores confidence in representative leadership,” he said.
Umukoro concluded his message by calling for divine blessings on Ethiope West Constituency 1, Delta State and Nigeria.
