Rivers State Governor Appoints New SSG
Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has urged the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Benibo Anabraba, to serve with honour and protect the interests of Rivers State.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara described the appointment as a rare privilege and a call to duty.
“Guard that office with honour. Discharge your duties with respect. Protect the interests of Rivers State. When you leave, let it be with honour.”
The Governor reminded the new SSG that leadership is not about power or position, but about service and responsibility.
He also expressed confidence in Anabraba’s ability to deliver, noting his past roles as Minority Leader in the Rivers State House of Assembly and Commissioner for Lands and Housing.
“We are coming from a difficult period. We must reassure our people that we mean well — especially now that peace has returned to our State.”
