Presidency Debunks Reports of Gbajabiamila’s Replacement as Chief of Staff

The Presidency has firmly denied viral reports claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has replaced the Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, with the President’s Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.

In an official statement issued on Wednesday, the Presidency described the report as false, misleading, and a deliberate fabrication, urging Nigerians to disregard it completely.

According to the statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, no changes have been made to the leadership structure at the State House.

“Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila remains the Chief of Staff to the President, while Hakeem Muri-Okunola continues to serve as the Principal Private Secretary. At no time has there been any replacement,” the statement clarified.

The Presidency warned that the viral claim was the handiwork of mischievous purveyors of fake news, whose intention is to create unnecessary tension and disharmony within government.

It further advised media organisations and members of the public to always verify information from credible and official sources before publishing or sharing, especially on social media platforms where misinformation spreads rapidly.

The statement reaffirmed that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains focused on governance, economic reforms, and national development, and will not be distracted by unfounded rumours.

The clarification comes amid heightened public interest in appointments within the Tinubu administration, underscoring the need for accurate reporting and responsible information sharing.
