Oborevwori Mourns Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, Hails His Legacy in Delta, Anioma Nation
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has mourned the death of former Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi, describing his passing as a painful loss to Delta State, the Anioma nation, and Nigeria.
In a condolence message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor said the late senator was a courageous leader and a consistent voice for the Anioma people, whose contributions to governance and national development would not be forgotten.
Governor Oborevwori recalled Senator Nwaoboshi’s service at the National Assembly, where he chaired the Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, noting that his leadership and advocacy significantly advanced conversations around development in the Niger Delta and Delta State.
The governor further highlighted the late lawmaker’s political journey, describing it as one driven by conviction, loyalty, and service. He noted that Senator Nwaoboshi served as a two-time Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, earning respect across party lines for his courage and consistency.
According to Governor Oborevwori, the former senator devoted his life to public service, leaving behind a legacy of principled leadership and dedication to his people and the nation.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I mourn the passing of my dear friend, Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi,” the governor said.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the Anioma nation, members of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, and all Nigerians whose lives he touched.
“I pray that Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest and gives his family, friends, and associates the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”
