Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged Nigerians to uphold prayer, unity and collective responsibility as essential pillars for national stability and sustainable development.

The Governor made the call on Friday during a courtesy visit by the Founder of Manner Prayer Mountain Ministry Worldwide and author of Our Daily Manna, Chris Kwakpovwe, at Government House, Asaba.

Leadership Thrives on Prayer and Goodwill

Governor Oborevwori described leadership as divinely ordained, stressing that those in positions of authority require continuous prayers and goodwill from the people to succeed. He specifically encouraged prayers for the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that governance flourishes when guided by divine wisdom.

According to him, leadership success is not driven solely by human effort but by divine direction and the collective support of citizens.

“When leaders succeed, the people ultimately benefit,” the Governor said, emphasizing that national progress is best achieved in an atmosphere of unity rather than division.

Unity as a Catalyst for Development

Oborevwori warned that sustainable development cannot thrive in a climate of discord, reiterating that unity remains a non-negotiable ingredient for progress at both state and national levels.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to people-oriented governance, pledging continued engagement with communities across Delta State to assess their needs and implement policies that deliver tangible, measurable development.

“As a government, our focus remains faithful service and meaningful development,” he stated, adding that sustained prayer and cooperation would keep Delta State and Nigeria on a steady path of growth.

ODM at 26: A Journey of Faith and Consistency

Earlier, Dr. Chris Kwakpovwe, accompanied by his wife and other clergy members, described praying for leaders as a sacred duty rooted in biblical instruction. He noted that believers are mandated to intercede for those in authority for wisdom, strength and sound judgment.

Reflecting on the 26-year journey of Our Daily Manna (ODM), he described the devotional as a divine assignment that began from humble beginnings and grew through consistency, sacrifice and grace.

Dr. Chris recounted witnessing the early editions of the devotional and its steady evolution into a global spiritual companion for families and believers.

He also commended Governor Oborevwori’s people-centred leadership, describing him as an exceptional leader and affirming his unwavering commitment to continually uphold him in prayers.
