N59.7bn Agbor Flyover: Oborevwori Flags Off Uromi Junction Project Jan 19
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, will on Monday, January 19, 2026, perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the ₦59.7 billion Uromi Junction Flyover in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area.
The project is part of the governor’s aggressive urban infrastructure renewal drive aimed at decongesting major traffic corridors and boosting economic activities across Delta State.
In a statement, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, said the ceremony would commence at 11:00 a.m., while invited guests are expected to be seated by 10:00 a.m. to ensure a smooth and hitch-free event.
Ahead of the official flag-off, construction activities have already commenced at the project site along the Lagos–Asaba Expressway at Uromi Junction, as the contracting firm, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, has mobilised to site and begun preliminary works.
According to Ahon, the early mobilisation reflects Governor Oborevwori’s resolve to deliver critical infrastructure projects on schedule and transform Delta’s urban landscape.
“The Uromi Junction Flyover is a landmark project that will ease traffic congestion, enhance road safety and stimulate commercial growth in Agbor and neighbouring communities,” he said.
The Agbor flyover flag-off comes just a week after the groundbreaking of the ₦39.3 billion Otovwodo Junction Flyover Project in Ughelli, further underlining the administration’s commitment to modernising the state’s road network.
With the addition of the Uromi Junction Flyover, the Oborevwori administration is now executing five major flyover projects across Delta State as part of its broader infrastructure development agenda.
The flyover projects are expected to significantly reduce travel time, improve mobility and unlock fresh economic opportunities, in line with the governor’s MORE Agenda for sustainable development.
