Gov. Oborevwori tasks Navy on marine security

Governor Oborevwori of Delta State has urged the Nigerian Navy to combat illegal activities in the maritime domain.

During a courtesy visit by Rear Admiral Chugali, the Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, the governor praised the Navy’s efforts in securing Nigeria’s waterways.

He emphasized the importance of the Navy’s support in securing Delta State’s coastal areas, which account for 40% of the state’s territory and serve as oil production assets.

The governor expressed confidence in the Navy’s ability to address illegal activities and improve security. Rear Admiral Chugali acknowledged the governor’s support and affirmed the Navy’s commitment to ensuring a secure maritime domain for socioeconomic activities.
