The Rector of Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, Prof. Emmanuel Uphuori-Biri, has urged newly admitted students to take full advantage of the opportunities provided by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to support their academic pursuits.
Prof. Uphuori-Biri gave the charge during the institution’s 24th Matriculation Ceremony held at the Polytechnic campus in Otefe-Oghara.

Addressing the matriculating students, the Rector emphasized the importance of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as a strategic intervention by the Federal Government aimed at ensuring that no willing student is denied access to higher education due to financial constraints. He encouraged students who are eligible to apply for the loan scheme to ease the burden on their parents and guardians.

He further advised the students to shun all forms of misconduct and activities capable of jeopardizing their stay in the institution. According to him, the Polytechnic maintains zero tolerance for cultism, examination malpractice, indecent dressing, and other social vices that could tarnish the image of the school.

The Rector reminded the matriculants that gaining admission into the Polytechnic was a privilege that must be guarded with discipline, focus, and dedication to their studies. He urged them to be good ambassadors of the institution both within and outside the campus.

Prof. Uphuori-Biri congratulated all the matriculating students on their successful admission and officially welcomed them into the academic community of Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, expressing optimism that they would excel in their chosen fields of study.

The 24th matriculation ceremony marked the formal admission of the new students into various programmes of the institution for the 2025/2026 academic session.
