Delta Council Boss Vows to Give Security, Education, Health Sectors More Attention

Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area,  Jaro Movudu Egbo (Ksc) has promised to give the Local Government Secretariat, Health, Education and Security within the Local Government more attention, just as he solicited for journalists cooperation to enable him achieve results.

Egbo made promises when he played host to members of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ughelli Correspondents Chapel in his office.

In an address presented to Journalists during the visit, Olorogun Jaro Movudu Egbo enlisted some the infrastructure he proposed to give face lift in the first quarter of his administration to include; “construction of an Ultra-Modern Cottage Maternity Health Centre which will be furnished with the State of the Art Facilities at the Local Government Headquarters here and construction of a new administrative block for principal officers in the Council and proposed funding for better facilities, training for our teachers in collaboration with SUPEB and a conducive learning environment for our pupils.”

Egbo added that; “As a Government, within the space of my 100 days of office, we have been able to save well over N25,000, 000.00 (Twenty-Five Million Naira) from our IGR (i.e. through our Local Government Identification Certificate, Birth Registration Certificate and Marriage Registration). This money are already been channelled to the purchase of school uniforms, Notebooks, and writing desks for our pupils in the Local Government Area.

“I want to say without mincing words that I met the offices in a very bad state, and I have to take immediate action for the renovation of the Chairman’s office, the Vice Chairman’s office, the Leader of the Legislative Arm so as to have a conducive environment for us to do our job credibly, meanwhile, I have also directed that the Head of Works Department to also bring up a BOQ (Bill of Ouantity) for the total renovation and furnishing of the other offices. We have also bought officials Vehicles for office of Vice Chairman, Leader of the 8th Assembly, Secretary to the Local Government, Head of Personnel Management and a Toyota Hiace Bus for the Press Crew.

“Our roads no doubt are in a very a bad state, and in a bid to find a lasting solution to it, I met with our amiable Governor, His Excellency, RT Hon. (Eder) sheriff Oborevwori, who has promised to look at our proposal of approving a 20 Kilometres of roads to us in the forthcoming budget proposal.”

Responding,  the Chairman of Ughelli Correspondent Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists,  Comrade Sunday Apah, commended Olorogun Jaro Egbo over his leadership and recent achievements as the Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council.

According to him; “In just a few months in office, you have demonstrated exceptional dedication to the welfare of our people.

“Your initiatives in health, the procurement of vehicles for our political class, and your focus on enhancing our security outfits all resonate with the pressing needs of our community.

“Moreover, your emphasis on verifying news and partnering with journalists underscores your understanding of the vital role communication plays in governance.

“We are particularly grateful for your recognition and decision to appoint one of our own as an eye here and part of your administration.

“Your support not only highlights your commitment to inclusivity but also strengthens the bond between our local government and the journalism profession in Ughelli North.

“As we move forward, we respectfully urge you to consider our secretariat in your plans. With your leadership and focus on collaboration, we believe that our partnership can yield significant benefits for both our local government and the community at large.

“Thank you once again for your dedication and service. Together, we can continue to build a better future for Ughelli North.”
