Delta APC Holds Peaceful LGA Congress, Elects Executives by Consensus Across 25 LGAs

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State on Saturday conducted a peaceful and well-coordinated Local Government Area (LGA) Congress across the state’s 25 council areas, with party executives emerging largely through consensus.

The exercise recorded an impressive turnout and was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, party leaders, and members of the media.

Members of the APC National Committee assigned to Delta State were earlier received at the party secretariat in Asaba by the State Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, who commended the committee for the successful ward congress and urged strict adherence to party guidelines during the LGA exercise.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, Secretary Hon. Simon Atigwe assured members that the mission was to ensure a transparent and inclusive process that would deepen unity within the party.

After monitoring activities across the three senatorial districts, Atigwe expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct and participation of members.
Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, also praised party faithful for the smooth exercise and urged members to work towards the reelection of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in 2027.

Oshimili South LGA
Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Council, Dr. Kelvin Ezenyili, described the congress as rancour-free, noting that executives emerged through sincere consensus and affirmation.

Oshimili North LGA
At Akwukwu-Igbo, party leaders including Hon. Frank Esenwa, Hon. Innocent Esewezie, Chief Patrick Ukah, and Mr. Olisa Ifeajika praised the peaceful conduct and high turnout, describing it as a clear endorsement of the consensus arrangement.

Uvwie LGA
Sylvester Oghenewede emerged as APC Chairman in Uvwie. In his acceptance speech, he pledged to foster unity and strengthen the party structure. Outgoing chairman Wilfred Emeleji congratulated the new executive and promised support.

🔹 Isoko North LGA
Mr. Sunday Omonakome was elected Chairman alongside other executives at the congress held at the council secretariat in Ozoro. Local Government Chairman Hon. Godwin Ogorugba and lawmaker Hon. Bernard Odior commended the peaceful process and called for sustained unity.
🔹 Isoko South LGA
Mr. Victor Ekelega emerged Chairman at the affirmative congress held at Oleh Township Stadium. Party leaders, including Prince Johnson Erijo, Hon. Bino Obowomano, and Hon. Warri Ovoke Friday, applauded stakeholders for the hitch-free exercise.

Ughelli North LGA
Mr. Lucky Ofomukoro emerged Chairman at the congress held at Oharisi Primary School. Party leader Olorogun O’tega Emerhor and Council Chairman Olorogun Jaro Egbo assured members of strong mobilisation ahead of future elections.

Ughelli South LGA
A new executive led by Mr. Ojay Edirin Ojigho was elected through consensus at Otu-Jeremi. Olorogun John Oguma commended stakeholders for maintaining peace throughout the exercise.
🔹 Ika North-East LGA
Mr. Emeka Asiwe emerged Chairman through a consensus process. Former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and Commissioner Charles Aniagwu praised the transparent and inclusive conduct.
🔹 Ethiope West LGA
Mr. Clement Okorodide emerged Chairman at Onogborhe Primary School, Ovade-Oghara. Leaders including Chief Ighoyota Amori, Hon. Ben Igbakpa, Hon. John Nani, and Hon. Halims Agoda described the exercise as peaceful, orderly, and reflective of unity.
🔹 Ethiope East LGA
Mr. Midwest Iboyitete was elected Chairman at the Government Pavilion in Isiokolo. Leaders such as Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, Chief Bernard Edewor, Dr. Ben Edoja, Hon. Akpodiogaga Emeyese, Hon. Felix Erhimedafe, and Chief Faith Majemite expressed confidence in the party’s renewed strength.
Outlook
With new executives now in place across Delta State, APC stakeholders say the party remains united, cohesive, and better positioned for future electoral contests.
