“It seems the administration of Prof Okolugbo as CMD was commissioned on the dictate of delivery; since he was appointed last December, it’s like one week, one positive development in this hospital, God bless Gov. Okowa for appointing him at this critical time.”
These were the words of a staff of the Delta State University Teaching Hospital Delsuth, Oghara recently at the official hand over of a 50kw Solar Power Hybrid System presented to Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara, by Rural Electrification Agency.
Dr. Bello Ahmed, while handing over the item on behalf of the MD of Rural Electrification Agency, said that the 50kw solar power hybrid system was given to power the 100 isolation and treatment centre under the COVID-19 intervention programme by the Federal Govt which DELSUTH was beneficiary.
Receiving the 50kw solar power hybrid system on behalf of DELSUTH management, Chief Medical Director, Prof. Nekwu Emmanuel Okolugbo, expressed the institution appreciation and applauded Rural Electrification Agency’s kind gesture for recognizing the State owned teaching hospital for its intervention program during the COVID-19 pandemic; hinted that this would help to bridge any ordeals experienced with energy supply from BEDC.
He also further appealed for more of such intervention in critical areas such as the ICU and NICU to forestall power outrages in such critical areas of the hospital, promised to show appreciation to the agency through formal letter from the hospital management, where he may request the Agency’s assistance on other critical areas begging for attention in the hospital.
