APC Releases Official Timetable for 2025/2026 Congresses, National Convention Holds March 2026

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled its 2025/2026 congresses timetable, detailing dates for ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses, culminating in a National Convention scheduled for March 2026.

The timetable, signed by the APC National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, was released from the party’s Buhari House National Secretariat, Abuja, and signals the commencement of the party’s nationwide leadership renewal process ahead of the next general elections.

APC Membership E-Registration Begins December 2025

According to the schedule, the exercise will begin with a Membership E-Registration Programme, which will run from Monday, December 1, 2025, to Friday, January 30, 2026. The registration is aimed at updating the party’s membership database across the country.

APC Ward and LGA Congresses: Key Dates
Ward Congresses:
The APC ward congresses will take place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, across all states of the federation.

Local Government Area (LGA) Congresses:
Scheduled for Thursday, February 19, 2026, with each LGA mandated to elect three delegates to the National Convention, including one female delegate, in line with the party’s gender inclusion policy.

APC State Congresses Scheduled for March 7, 2026
Elections into the State Executive Committees of the APC will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, paving the way for the emergence of new state leadership structures nationwide.

Zonal Congresses to Hold Across Six Geopolitical Zones
The APC Zonal Congresses are fixed for Saturday, March 21, 2026, and will take place simultaneously across the six geopolitical zones at the following venues:

South West: Ibadan
South East: Enugu
South South: Rivers / Cross River
North West: Kaduna
North East: Gombe / Bauchi
North Central: Nasarawa
APC National Convention Set for March 25–28, 2026.

The APC National Convention, the climax of the congresses, is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, to Saturday, March 28, 2026, during which national officers of the party will be elected.

Appeal Committees, Nomination Forms, Screening Included
The timetable also outlines timelines for the sale of nomination forms, screening of aspirants, and the constitution of appeal committees at ward, LGA, state, and zonal levels to handle disputes arising from the congresses.

The party noted that the exercise is being conducted in accordance with Articles 11 and 17 of the APC Constitution, describing it as a crucial step in strengthening internal democracy and repositioning the ruling party ahead of the next electoral cycle.
