Udu LG Dissolves Revenue Committees, Warns Against Illegal Collections

The Udu Local Government Council has approved the dissolution of all 2025 Revenue Committees and Revenue Contractors operating within the Local Government Area.

The decision was approved by the Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun (Hon.) Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, JP, FCIA, and announced at the final Executive Council meeting for the year 2025.

Committees Exempted from the Dissolution

The dissolution does not affect the following entities:

Nicoles Nigeria Technology Limited

Lewishan Professional (Tenement Rate collection)

Transportation Management Committee

Billboards Committee

Public Advisory on 2026 Revenue Payments

The Chairman has strongly advised residents, traders, landlords, and business operators across Udu Local Government Area not to make any 2026 revenue payments to any committee or contractor at this time, in order to avoid double taxation.

He assured the public that the Council will officially announce the constitution of the 2026 Revenue Committees, after which lawful revenue collection will commence.

Warning Against Illegal Revenue Collection

A stern warning has been issued to members of all dissolved committees to immediately cease all revenue collection activities.

Any individual found collecting 2026 revenue without official authorization from the Local Government administration will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

Directive on Handing Over Council Properties

All Chairmen and Secretaries of the dissolved committees are directed to hand over all Local Government properties in their possession without delay to the Supervisor for Finance,

Mr. Omoko Vincent Oghenevwegba.

Official Channel for Voluntary 2026 Payments

For now, no revenue should be paid to any committee within the Local Government Area. However, individuals or business owners who wish to make 2026 revenue payments voluntarily are advised to proceed to the Udu Local Government Council Secretariat and make payment directly at the Revenue Office Unit into the official Local Government account.
